Cornwall-based Positive Response Training and Consultancy has reached a significant milestone, certifying its 1,000th trainer through its train-the-trainer programme supporting professionals in health, education and social care settings across the UK, as reported by The Business Desk.
Established to support the prevention and management of challenging behaviours, the firm works with services supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, acquired brain injury and dementia. Organisations it works with include Brandon Trust, River Exe Healthcare and Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change.
The milestone coincides with the firm's renewed Bild ACT certification, reinforcing its standing as a provider of accredited behaviour management training delivered to carers and support professionals across the country.
Mark Hilley, lead trainer at the firm, based at Penryn's Tremough Innovation Centre, said the achievement carries particular significance given the company's regional roots. "Reaching our 1,000th trainer milestone is a proud moment for the entire team. We deliver training for carers across the UK, so achieving this in Cornwall makes it especially meaningful," he said. "Qualifying our 1,000th trainer, together with our renewed Bild ACT certification, means we can continue delivering expert training that prioritises quality of life and avoids restrictive practices."
Matt Harrington, head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, said the milestone highlights the national reach of Cornwall-based organisations in specialist professional education. "Mark and the Positive Response team create real social impact in care settings across the UK through the specialist training programmes they deliver," he said. "Reaching this milestone emphasises just how vital high-quality training is in keeping people safe. It's brilliant to see the team grow, and their success shows how organisations rooted in Cornwall can help raise the bar for progression in health and care, far beyond the region."
The Cornwall Innovation Centres, where Positive Response is based, comprise three locations across the county: the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro, the Pool Innovation Centre in Pool and the Tremough Innovation Centre in Penryn.
The train-the-trainer model used by Positive Response allows qualified professionals to deliver accredited behaviour management programmes within their own organisations, extending the reach of specialist training across health and social care settings without requiring external trainers for every session.
