Antrim-based Training Solutions NI is investing in new classroom facilities and launching additional accredited qualifications in 2026 to meet growing skills shortages and compliance demands across Northern Ireland.
The expansion will allow the centre to support more learners seeking industry-relevant training.
During 2025, the provider delivered more electrical qualifications than in any previous year, a trend expected to continue as demand for electrical upskilling remains high. Management training and health and safety qualifications, particularly NEBOSH certifications, have also seen sustained growth in uptake.
The planned investment at the Antrim training centre includes a new classroom facility, expected in Q2 2026, alongside new renewable energy qualifications in solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage. These courses reflect industry demand and new requirements for qualified installers.
Training Solutions NI has also been appointed to deliver training for new assessors on behalf of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), supporting the heating and plumbing sector, which faces a shortage of qualified assessors and skilled professionals.
Drew Davis, managing director at Training Solutions NI, said, “Northern Ireland continues to experience skills shortages across multiple industries. Our planned expansion and new qualification offerings are focused on helping both learners and employers meet evolving compliance standards and workforce needs.”
He added, “The expansion reflects a wider labour market challenge, where individuals already in employment are increasingly required to upskill to maintain compliance and meet employer and regulatory expectations. Training Solutions NI works closely with employers, industry partners, and learners to deliver industry-aligned training that supports workforce development and long-term economic growth across Northern Ireland.”
