Wrea Green-based Orchard Rock Training has marked 20 years in business, delivering around 2,000 training sessions a year to care teams and workplaces from Plymouth to Inverness. Its trainers now run groups of up to 15 people at sites across the UK, with many theory courses also available live online.

Based at Brookmill Industrial Estate on Station Road, Orchard Rock caps hands-on courses at 12 people so everyone can practise with the equipment, and its catalogue of more than 200 courses is led by moving and handling, fire marshal training and emergency first aid at work. The business is registered at Companies House as Orchard Rock Ltd, incorporated on 10 January 2006.

Clinical courses including catheterisation, venepuncture and syringe driver training are delivered by registered nurses, and the company says it has received more than 1,700 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of five.

The structural driver is delivery at the point of work, with sessions run on the equipment and in the settings learners use every day rather than in a separate training centre.

This year the company published free printable resources for care teams on its website, including a Care Quality Commission standards poster and a handover template, and outlined training options for offices, warehouses, schools and nurseries.

Gemma Sewell, business development manager at Orchard Rock Training, said the company still believes “the best place to train people is where they work,” using the equipment and situations learners really face.

Orchard Rock trainers are on the road every day, with all sessions organised from its Wrea Green base.

Sewell also thanked every care home, nurse and team that has trained with the company, which is also shirt sponsor of Bacee Preston Cricket Club for the 2026 season.

For the sector, the anniversary confirms that on-site delivery remains a viable long-term model for care-sector training providers, particularly for hands-on and clinical courses that depend on real equipment.
