Flúirse has been named winner of the Best Online Learning Experience at the Education Awards 2026, lauded for a mature, highly structured online learning model that has delivered continuous professional development to Irish primary school teachers for 19 years, combining strong national reach with a programme design that is both operationally consistent and genuinely responsive to how teachers learn.

Judges were clear in their assessment, saying, "Flúirse presented a highly structured, mature online learning model with strong national reach. The integration of UDL, AI-supported development, moderated engagement, and measurable completion rates is particularly impressive.”

“The programme's thoughtful design aligns closely with teacher CPD frameworks and demonstrates operational consistency. With 19 years of continuous delivery for Irish primary school teachers, Flúirse offers a proven, scalable, and sustainable online model, cementing its position as a leader in the field," the panel stated.

The Best Online Learning Experience category recognised Irish-based third level institutions, technical training colleges, and organisations that have developed and integrated outstanding online learning for their students.

Submissions were assessed across programme design and curriculum development, method of delivery, innovation in tools and technology, industry exposure, and the strategies in place to support students' future careers, with judges looking for clear evidence of impact backed by facts throughout.

Flúirse’s win reflects the standard the Education Awards apply to online learning entries, where the strongest submissions demonstrate not just technical delivery but evidence of sustained impact, pedagogical rigour, and the organisational capacity to maintain quality at scale over time.

The Education Awards 2026 awards gala took place last 16 April at the Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Meath.
