Ireland's education sector prepares to celebrate excellence as the finalists for the Education Awards 2026 are unveiled, recognising outstanding achievement across higher education, further education, and professional training.

The shortlist spans 27 categories, reflecting the breadth and ambition driving the sector forward. From breakthrough digital transformation initiatives to collaborative projects reshaping workforce development, this year's finalists demonstrate how Irish institutions continue to set standards in teaching innovation, research impact, and community engagement.

Among the recognised categories are Best Masters Programme, International Engagement Award, and Excellence in Sustainability—each highlighting distinct pathways through which institutions are responding to evolving student expectations, industry demands, and societal challenges. The Collaboration Awards, divided across economic development, social impact, and international partnerships, underscore the sector's commitment to working beyond institutional boundaries.

Career-focused categories including Career Impact Strategy and Best Workforce Upskilling Initiative reflect growing emphasis on graduate outcomes and lifelong learning, while awards for Student Experience, Library Teams, and Diversity & Inclusivity acknowledge the infrastructure and culture required to support learner success.

Professional development is recognised through Best Graduate Training Programme and Excellence in Education by a Professional Body, celebrating organisations that bridge academic learning with workplace readiness.

Finalists now await the verdict of an independent judging panel comprising Irish and international education leaders, who evaluate entries against rigorous criteria measuring innovation, impact, and scalability.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on 16 April 2026 at the Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Meath, where Ireland's education community will gather to celebrate the achievements shaping the future of learning.
