Businesses in Longford and Roscommon embrace upskilling for a more resilient future

Over 1,280 individuals and 450 businesses in Longford and Roscommon invested in workforce development through Skillnet Ireland last year, completing more than 7,450 training days. With 96% of participating firms being SMEs, the strongest uptake came from the agriculture, services, health, and food & drink sectors.

As the green and digital transitions accelerate, demand for future-fit skills is growing. With more than €28 million in employer contributions nationwide, businesses are signalling strong confidence in upskilling as a core strategy for innovation, adaptability, and sustainable growth.
