Trinity College Dublin’s Diotima project has landed €500k from Enterprise Ireland to build an AI platform designed to ease teacher workloads and improve student learning outcomes. Founded by ex-teacher Siobhan Ryan and edtech professional Jonathan Dempsey, Diotima uses responsible AI to deliver formative feedback that enhances assessment quality while reducing staff burden. Two post-doctoral AI researchers have joined the team, and trials are planned ahead of a September 2025 launch. With backing from Learnovate, Diotima is set to spin out as a standalone company by 2026. For education leaders, this signals a decisive move towards AI integration that meaningfully supports teachers rather than replacing them.
