This award will go to the organisation in Ireland that has delivered an outstanding workforce upskilling initiative over the past 12 months, demonstrating a strong commitment to employee learning, adaptability, and future skills development. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts, with particular attention to the criteria listed below:
- Demonstrate Initiative:: Demonstrate how the upskilling initiative was developed and outline its objectives in supporting workforce learning and development. Articulate the role of the workforce in identifying skills needs and/feeding in to the content of the Initiative with particular reference to how the organisation captured and implemented workforce input.
- Overview:: Provide an overview of how the initiative has been implemented over the past 12 months, giving specific examples. Also, outline any challenges faced in implementation and how your team demonstrated initiative, innovation,creativity, and leadership to overcome them. Demonstrate the role of the workforce in the development of the programme and its content/quality assurance.
- Demonstrate Organisational Benefits:: Demonstrate the real business benefits of the upskilling initiative, providing positive feedback (i.e., from internal or external stakeholders) where appropriate.
- Demonstrate Employee Benefits:: Demonstrate how the initiative benefits employees, providing positive feedback (via internal surveys or testimonials) where appropriate. Demonstrate how the feedback was used to enhance/modify the programme.
- Evidence:: Provide evidence of how you monitor and measure the success of the initiative against the stated objectives, including completion rates, skills development outcomes, or progression metrics.
- Excellence in Training & Development:: Provide examples where your organisation has gone beyond standard requirements to support workforce learning, including details such as mentoring, partnerships with education providers, or the number of hours devoted to training and development.
